It's been too long
Travis here, 20 years old. I'm 2 years 9 months on T and 19.5 months since chest surgery. I've kind of being feeling down in the dumps lately, but some positive changes have occured lately.

I just joined because I am still kinda unfamiliar with this state even though I've been here for twoish years. So I JUST changed my name with social security and changed my name in my home state a while ago. I pass 100% and I am half a year on T. Now I have to go get an ID card. What do I put for sex? I had a therapist in my old state recommend that I list my SOCIAL sex to eliminate confusion when I use it in a regular setting (cigarettes, movies, etc). Except I have to bring my birth certificate with me to the office. So then I suppose it becomes a judgment call of the person I get? What do I do?! Please help! Please respond soon! I have to travel and I need an actual ID. |

Hey fellas
Let me do a total re-introduction. Nat 22, gender chopp`d & screwed. Have you ever been caught in a situation that seems like its impossible to tell or even express? I have this amazing girlfriend and its been close too about 2 months with us, and the first month we were together she went home for Thanksgiving break, and that was hard and now she back home with her family again 'till the 4th of January. My bday is on the 30th & our 2 months is on the 23rd and you know Christmas of 'course. Its been weird w/o her by my side ... Enough on that note. I have been having these thoughts about transiting for a long time at that and I brought it up to her and she was very supportive during the conversation but she said to me that she doesn't believe she could ever see me as a MAN. I have my own definition of a man, & that is a "MAN" isn't defined by whats between his legs - all the FTM's I know have the strongest mental state I have ever come in contact with. I feel like my mental sate has overcome the female mind that I have, a brain is powerful, like a sponge . I want to transition one day but the mental state is a journey that I have to go through before any testosterone hits my body.

Coming out letter, Endo Appointment, and CD Release, OH MY!
Hey there duuuuuuudes, I have a whole lot of updates. Most importantly, I have my endo appointment coming up on January 15. My partner and I have been having a lot of long, honest talks about what my starting testosterone will mean and what we will have to do to make sure that we really take care of our relationship. She's nervous, as am I, but I think being excited has really started to overtake whatever nervousness we've both been feeling. I also am planning to come out to my parents right after Christmas, because if it goes well I really want to tell them about my upcoming endo appointment. I'm sitting up right now working on my letter, and I'm posting the rough draft under the cut. Also! My band just released our very first EP, entitled "The All Eyes EP," through our myspace. My band is called Look, I'm Burning, and we're sort of metalcore/hardcore (lots of screaming and guitar riffing). The guys in my band are the coolest, best dudes I have ever met. Even though I was out prior to starting my band, having them as a social backbone and support system has helped me so much in actually pursuing the steps necessary to make my physical transition happen. They're nothing but supportive and the best friends a guy could ever ask for. Basic vanity
Bf took a couple generic vanity photos before going out. As usual, I'm shirtless and flexing, haha. Also, I lightened my hair to "chestnut" to look more friendly and I really dig the color so far. I think people may have misunderstood the intention of my previous post or where I am coming from. So I am going to try it again. Hi, My name is Adam I am twenty two years old, I am a senior at SUNY (State University of New York) Purchase college. I started taking testosterone two and half years ago (thanks to Callen-Lorde) and had chest reconstruction surgery a year and a half ago. When I realized I was trans(6 months before T) there was no question in my mind that I wanted to/had to transition. I didn't stop to think, to really figure out my feelings and what it would be like after I transitioned, I could rattle off the effects that testosterone would have, but I don't think I really realized how much my life would change. I am not saying that I doubt my decision or regret what I have done, I know that no matter the length of time, this would be the decision I would have come to. After reading trans autobiographies/stories/narratives about how they realized they were trans, I realized that my story is very different from other's. This is what lead to me to do the project I am doing, I wanted to know what other people's stories are, I was interested in how other people came to the realization that they are trans, what that process entailed for them. I am hoping to learn more about others and about myself. As I said in the previous entry I need to interview five FTMs who are ages 18-30 and five who are 40-65. The interviews will be confidential and anonymous. I will give you a number instead of using your name, I will use a pseudonym for you in my report. I will destroy your contact information after the project is completed. I really need participants, so far no one has volunteered. I have to interview people over the month of January. Please participate, I would really appreciate your help. If I do not get participants it is likely that I will fail this project and will not graduate, I only have four more months and am scheduled to graduate in May. I think this project could be really great and very eye opening for people. PLEASE participate and spread the word to any FTMs you know! Again my email address is adam.barrineau@purchase.edu.
